This time of year, my cat, Lydia, wants all cuddles, all the time. I'd like to pretend it's me she wants, but I know she's just after body heat (and behind-the-ear scritches, of course). I get so inspired at the beginning of every year with all the goals and possibilities that the new year holds. So "Carpe Annum" - or "Sieze the Year" - has become my unofficial motto for this time of year. There's just something magical about new beginnings (or maybe it's just the sugar rush from eating nothing but holiday leftovers for a week straight).
